2024 Smoke composites handguard install

Palmetto Gun Club is back hosting USPSA matches. Not happy with the result but I understand. I shot the match without any practice and dry fire for 2 months. Cons: Slightly more expensive, it's composite and delamination might be an issue in the future, aluminum barrel nut. My observations so far. Only time will tell with the smoke composites handguard in relation to possible delamination. Based on reviews they can take a beating. Both companies stand behind their products. Hopefully this helps out. That is one thing I like about Coda: torquing the barrel nut to spec doesn't impact aligning the handguard. The only issue I have - which is different in the Faxon and Smoke Composites - is there are just thin holes in the carbon fiber with little bolts holding it to the metal mounting ring. The inside of the ring measured 1.53 inches, so some suppressors will fit inside the handguard. Handguard was as heavy as the stock barrel nut, so i removed like 11 ozs from the front of the gun. Stock is very adjustable and feels great against the shoulder. You can also use a Manta Tac Wrap, KE SHTF+ Wrap, or a Camo Form Wrap on any handguard which will shield you from the heat. I have an x400 waiting to go on the Isler 15" carbon fiber tube at 12'clock once they get the next batch or two ready. Currently have the light/laser mounted on the bottom rail until the carbon fiber tube comes in. With the factory handguard the x400 takes up 3/4 of the 510c window when mounted on top.I have the 17" Faxon Firearms carbon fiber hand guard with a V7 titanium barrel nut. I wish I had gone with the Smoke hand guard at a custom length. The two nut clamp on the Faxon just gets in the way of a mag well grip, but it's just nitpicking.
